Angel Cove is an organ donation and transplant awareness site that offers unique social awareness designs on quality apparel and gift items through the Internet. The Awareness Butterfly
Owner, shopkeeper, graphic designer, web developer...you name it, Shannon's probably behind it. Shannon Steffen is the woman behind Angel Cove. Shannon currently resides in Wisconsin with her husband and two dogs. She works full-time as a web developer and graphic designer for her own company and continues to do web design for non-profit organizations, as well as author freelance articles on various topics for online publications.
Shannon began graphic design and web development in 1995, while attending Hofstra University. Although it was then that she began to use the computer as her artistic medium, she had been in many art exhibit competitions for water color, abstract mediums, and pottery since the 3rd grade.
Shannon created Angel Cove Organ Donation & Transplant Awareness after the love of her life received his miracle double lung (bilateral) transplant. Her husband was born with a terminal illness called Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and before he reached 30 years old, his lungs were so damaged from the disease that he was put on a lung transplant list with UW-Madison in Wisconsin. In the 3.5 years wait for his miracle, he became extremely ill and was placed on a ventilator for his 9-week stay in the hospital and for 7 months after that time he remained on a ventilator while at home. He was able to gain enough strength to get off the artificial life support and 2 years later, on November 11, 2004, he received his life-saving double lung transplant.
Today he is healthy, working full-time, and enjoying life but they have not forgotten the path they have traveled to get to this point. It was for this reason that Shannon created the Angel Cove Organ Donation & Transplant Awareness store - to continue to support and spread awareness of the importance of organ donation. They have also not forgotten the selfless act of his organ donor and the donor's family and therefore have added a section of the store to convey the blessing these people are on the lives of others.
Angel Cove Today
Angel Cove continues to grow in popularity for both the quality of the awareness products and the design collection. The designs and products are constantly expanding with Shannon's ideas as well as suggestions from customers, friends, & family.

- Angel Cove has raised more than $2,000 in the last year for the Wisconsin Donor Network in order to help raise awareness of organ donation and transplantation!
