Angel Cove Now Donates 10% to Charity

In the past we’ve been able to give 100% to the Laurie Ferber Heart/Lung Transplant Fund – in order to help those transplant recipients with medical costs not covered by their health care insurance. However, Angel Cove will be changing the amount of charity to 10% of all profits from our online store to the Laurie Ferber Transplant Fund. Why the change?

We would love to help others by giving 100% of the Angel Cove store. However, given our own change in healthcare insurance, with high premiums and a pre-existing medical condition, it’s not possible at this time to be tithing 100% of all profits from the store. In order to cover my own husband’s medical insurance we need to look inside and take care of our own responsibilities. My promise to never let him go without healthcare insurance must be honored first.

Of course, if you would like to donate directly to the Laurie Ferber transplant fund at UW–Madison hospitals, in order to ensure that 100% of your money goes to this wonderful charity, you may do so directly on their website at this link.

We are optimistic that things will change and times will get better. We continue to be committed to organ donation and transplant awareness and plan on changing our charitable giving to 100% of all profits from the Angel Cove Organ Donation Awareness store as soon as humanly possible.

We hope this won’t deter you from purchasing one of our beautiful t-shirts or gift products from the organ donation awareness store. It’s through your support and friendship that we have been able to donate over $3000 to the Laurie Ferber heart and lung transplant fund to date.

Remember, 10% will continue to be given to the transplant fund to help others by defraying the cost of accommodations, travel and other unexpected expense incurred before during and after the miracle of organ donation. We have not given up the drive – just slowed the car down a little.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

After her husband received a double-lung (bilateral) transplant in 2004, Shannon founded the Angel Cove Organ Donation Awareness Shop, which provides awareness t-shirts and gifts products for transplant recipients, living organ donors and donor families - giving 100% of the profits to help heart and lung transplant recipients with medical costs. Shannon lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her wonderful husband and two chocolate Labrador Retrievers.
